The final report

On the 24th of the March at the Palais de la Jeunesse de Jean Paul Guingane in Cissin, Ouagadougou, the Paralympic Research and Development team presented their report entitled ‘An evaluation of the capacities, resources and infrastructures of the Burkinabe Association for Disability Sports and its affiliated disability sports clubs in Burkina Faso.’
The event was opened with speeches from Federation President Guy Yameogo and International Service Country Director Eleonore Couldiaty. The report itself was presented by Boukary Koanda, team leader for the Research and Development team.

The presentation was well attended by influential figures, with representatives from the Ministries of Social Welfare, Human and Civil Rights and Women and Gender Promotion. The event was also graced with the presence of several the Federation’s members, as well as personnel from other NGOs working in the field of disability, such as Light for the World.
The findings of the report were well received by the assembled audience and a constructive session was held on the best possible use of the report, primarily on its distribution and future adaptation.
In the afternoon a wheelchair basketball and toarbll match were held between ABUSHIS, HSB and two teams from ABPAM, these clubs affiliated to the Federation, which demonstrated to those attending the capacities already developed in Ouagadougou.
Overall the event was a huge success, allowing the Federation, International Service, government and other interested parties to see the progress made since the project’s inception, and giving all a clear idea of the direction of travel to be taken in the future.
